The 5 houses with the striking arcades were built on behalf of the Dessau savings and building cooperative and by the Bauhaus construction department under the direction of Hannes Meyer. They accommodate a total of 90 apartments. Of these, 1 apartment is still in its original condition and is looked after by the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation. The remaining apartments are occupied by tenants of the Dessau eG housing association.
